For more information about the data in this directory, please see: http://www2.inpe.br/climaespacial/ This directory contains the raw data files used to create daily plots of ionospheric D-region absorption. The directory follows the structure: - riometer (main folder) - station - year - data The data file name is: STN-TYPE-CH-YYYYMMDD.csv, where: STN: station label (3 letters) TYPE: data type = "data-1Hz" (8 letters) = "data-minute" (11 letters) CH: channel = "0" for 30,0 MHz (1 digit) = "1" for 38,2 MHz (1 digit) YYYY: year (4 digits) MM: month (2 digits) DD: day (2 digits) The data file contains 12 columns as described below: Column #:Header Description 1 hr_ut: UT hour of the current data entry 2 min_ut: UT minute of the current data entry 3 sec_ut: UT second of the current data entry 4 hr_lmst: Local Mean Sidereal Time, hour, of current data entry 5 min_lmst: Local Mean Sidereal Time, minute, of current data entry 6 sec_lmst: Local Mean Sidereal Time, second, of current data entry 7 freq: Center frequency of the riometer channel (Hz) 8 bw: Bandwidth of the riometer channel (Hz) 9 timestamp: UT timestamp from the riometer computer, ISO8601 formatted 10 sky_pwr: Sky power, total RF power in the channel (W) 11 ref_pwr: Reference power, total RF power in the reference channel (W) 12 sky_temp: Sky temperature in Kelvin. Station coordinates: longitude latitude station -36.528 -07.381 CAR - Sao Joao do Cariri (PB)* -46.567 -23.185 ATB - Atibaia (SP) -53.821 -29.442 SMS - Sao Martinho da Serra (RS) The riometer network belongs to and is operated by EMBRACE, the Brazilian Studies and Monitoring of Space Weather. To express acknowledgement for the use of data from EMBRACE/INPE, it is mandatory to include the following statement in any document (manuscript, presentation, communication, report, etc.): "The author(s) would like to thank EMBRACE/INPE of MCTI for providing the data for this work." *The riometer installed at CAR - Sao Joao do Cariri (PB) belongs to the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG) and is operated and maintained by the ParaĆba Atmospheric Luminescence Observatory (OLAP). For the use of CAR data, the OLAP group requests that: 1) The data is used only for scientific purposes; 2) The data is public, but its use will be subject to authorization by the OLAP group after analyzing the scientific objective of the research. It is required to avoid overlapping studies. For more information, please contact rburiti@df.ufcg.edu.br or igo.paulino@df.ufcg.edu.br; 3) Acknowledgements: The authors would like to acknowledge OLAP/UFCG, FAPESQ-PB (grant #002/2019), and UFPB for providing the riometer data and the facilities to operate it. Authors are grateful to EMBRACE/INPE for providing the downloadable data.
